John P. Greenwood, PhD, of University Hospital in Leeds, UK speaks with Julia Stehli of the European Heart Journal at the 2016 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) 2016 congress about the CE-MARC 2 trial results.
CE-MARC 2 was conducted to determine if cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging among patients with suspected coronary heart disease was superior to NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidelines. Unnecessary angiography in this patient population is a critical issue that the researchers looked to solve.
The results were presented at the 2016 ESC congress in Rome in August 2016 and simultaneously published in JAMA.
